Obituary: ERNEST R. STEWART OF MECHANICSBURG DIES IN LINCOLN
Ernest R. STEWART, 90, of Mechanicsburg, died Friday at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital, Lincoln. Born in Hettick, Mr. STEWART was the son of
the late Jonathan and Iretta ROBISON STEWART. He was a retired carpenter.
He married the former Mary CONVERSE and she preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons, Ivan L. of Mechanicsburg and Calvin E. of Indianapolis,
Ind; four daughters, Lois BYERLINE of Mechanicsburg; Willa GIDEL and
Mary Ann KAYLOR, both of Illiopolis and Lucille CARR of Springfield; two
sisters, Marie CONVERSE of Springfield and Opal STRATTON of Hettick;
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Fullenwider Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, with the
Rev. Ben DEXTER officiating. Burial was in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
