Aged 84 years. Mr. Allen was a native of Shannodoah, Virginia. In his youth his father removed to Trigg Co, KY, where he remained until the year 1837. Since that time he has lived in this county and has accumulated considerable property near the town of New Douglas. Mr. Allen enjoyed a most remarkable strong constitution and it was a frequent remark of his that he never required the services of a physician. In religion he was a Quaker and his life was one of sobriety, industry and benevolence.
