Bull Gores Man to Death

Catches Aged Victim in Barnyard and Kills Him in an Instant

Attacked by a bull, James Corcoran, an old man of Troy, was gored to death in 
the barnyard of Patrick Rowan, with whom he lived. The bull finally was driven 
off with a pitchfork by Mr. Rowan. Mr. Corcoran, who was 89 years of age, had 
been living a life of retirement on Mr. Rowan's farm, and he started to take a 
walk over the fields. He opened the gate into the pasture where the bull is 
kept, intending to walk across it. The moment he stepped within the field the 
animal charged him fiercely. Mr. Corcoran threw up his hands in defense, but 
one of the animal's horns pierced his brain.
