He was 90. Born Dec. 8, 1907, in Alton, Ill., Mr. Powell lived in Fresno for 20 years. He retired after working as a mechanical and electrical engineer. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara. He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Middleton of Coarsegold, Joan Robledo of Fresno, and Linda Garrett of Livermore; son Ronald of Blythe; sisters, Helen Gnerich and Malinda Powell, both of Illinois; and nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one step great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel in Fresno. Linda Garrett P.S. I will have to look for the one on Malinda Powell, his sister who died February 2 this year.
