September, 1869. d. 1943 Mrs. T.E. Sheff Dies at Age 75 Mrs. Temperance Elizabeth Sheff, 75 died at 6:30 a.m. today at her home, 1737 Alby. She had been an invalid for the past 17 years as result of a hip fracture incured in a fall. She was the widow of William Sheff, who died 11 years ago. Mrs. Sheff was born at New Douglas, and moved from there to Grafton in childhood. She had resided in Alton for the past 28 years. Surviving are her two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Nicholson, who had resided with her mother in recent years and assisted in caring for her, and Mrs. Lily Epperheimer, Alton, and a son, Charles Ellery Sheff, West Los Angeles, Calif. She also leaves a abrother, John Wall, and a sister, Mrs. Ellen Bushey, both of Grafton, and 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral rites will be conducted Tuesday at 2:p.m. at Streeper funeral home. The body is a the funeral home where friends may call Sunday evening and until time of the service.
