Divorce petitions of twenty three men and women of Madison county will be heard by Judge J. F. Gillham in the circuit court on Friday May 9, 1919 and they are as queally divided between the sexes as an arithmetical proposition will follow. There are twelve men and eleven women. Other cases may be set for the date if default is taken before May 8. The last day for filing new cases for the May term of court is May 16. Attorneys have been requested to file their suits early to avoid a rush. The week of May 12 will be used for motions for new trials. Arrangements are also to be made for hearing cases by the judge without juries. Smith Article dated May 17, 1919 Sonnie Alexander, of Madison wants a divorce from Mrs. Nora Alexander. He names another man. They were married on May 13, 1917 and searated November 19, 1918. Mrs. Beulah Clark of Madison charges her husband Sidney Clark with desterion. They were married on May 11, 1914 and separated February 2, 1915 Desertion is the charge made by Albert Keilbach of Highland against his wife Mrs. Lillie Keilbach. They were married on October 21, 1912 and separated on January 26, 1916. Mrs. Elizabeth DeForrest of Highland charges her husband Arthur DeForrest with desertion. They were married on October 12, 1912. They have two children Anna and Alice. Article dated September 6, 1919 Mrs. Mary Holst wants a divorce from John Holst who she says is living at Falfurias, Texas, at the present time. She is the mother of eight children and asks that he be restrained from disposing of property in Collinsville and Nameoki township valued at $20,000. They were married June 12, 1900 and separated January 22, 1917. Horace Jerrells, of Granit City wants a decree against Mrs. Carrie Jerrells. He charges her with desertion. They were married May 26, 1915 and separated September 26, 1915 "Dot" a woman said to live in Peoria is a cause for the divorce suit of Mrs. Miriam O'Brien of Madison against James O'Brien. She also charges cruelty. They were married November 29, 1912 and separated on June 20, 1919. Mrs. Mary Trautwine of Venice makes a charge of desertion against her husband Paul Trautwine. They were married November 26, 1912, and separated September 24, 1913. Cruelty is the charge of Mrs. Marguerite McDowell in her divorce against Clarence McDowell. They were married September 23, 1918 and separated November 1, 1918. Her case is one of two of only a short married life. A sixth divorce was filed yesterday by Harry G. Collins of Madison against Mrs. Alice R. Collins. Another man is alleged to be the cuase. They were married August 12, 1912 and separated April 16, 1918.
