Hines Mary Martin vs Edward Martin For unannounced reasons three cases were dismissed. They are Lulu Phillips vs John J. Phillips, Rose Stamper vs Dale Stamper, Lucy Henry vs Arthur Henry. Three local dirvorces granted by court Among the divorces granted in the circuit court Friday there were three of local interest. Frank L. Gibbons obained an annullment of his marriage to Anna H. Gibbons. The nullment and the circumstances surrounding it were unusual. The couple were married in Baltimore while Gibbons was in the army. For two years his wife drew $40 a month and received other money from him. He was sent to France and on his return they went to Maryville to make their home. The husband worked in the mine and his wife went daily to the post office for the mail. One day he chanced to find a letter in his trunk addressed to his wife. It was from a Baltimore lawyer telling her that her divorce was under way and advised that she come to Baltimore when the case was tried. When confronted with the accusation that she was a bigamist the wife left his home after admitting a former marriage he said and has not been seen by Gibbons since. Florence Bowman Hellinger of this city married to Wm. J. Hellinger on May 27, 1918. She left him on January 18, 1920. She charged that her husband while in Tulsa Oklahoma, and later had affairs with other women. He treated her cruelly and struck her a number of times she said. She was given her maiden name. Elizabeth Reiss of this city was given a divorce from her husband John Reiss and also the custody of her two children. Her husband left July 21, 1917. They were married February 2, 1906.
