Mrs. Mary Cook shot her daughter Jessie at Salem and the girl will die. She 
also slashed "Dutch" Neihl, a boarder, across the throat with a razor. His 
recovery is doubtful. The Cook woman was infatuated with Neihl and jealousy 
was the cause of her act.
