Obituary of Wesley Edward MULVANEY, Marion County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern Obituary of Wesley Edward Mulvaney 4 March 1978   Wesley Edward Mulvaney, son of Wesley and Sarah Wilson Mulvaney, departed this life March 4, 1978 at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 6 days.    He was born in Meacham Township on May 26, 1911.  He was united in marriage to Laura Longcor June 20, 1936, who survives.  Also surviving are two sisters, Nellie Gordon of Kinmundy and Lillian Yates of Salem.  Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Charles, Ervin, and Ray; and four sisters, Edith, Murtle Perry, Belle Outhouse, and Lucy Thompson.   Ed was a member of Meacham Baptist Church were he served as a deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and assistant song leader.  He leaves to morn his passing, his wife and sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.   Ed's favorite chapter in the Bible was the twenty-third Psalm and the Sunday before he went up to be with the Lord, he asked the congregation if we didn't all agree that it was wonderful to know that we would go to live in the house of the Lord forever.   The Lord is my shephard, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:  for thou art with me.  Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Thank you note published with the obit. May God bless each and every one who helped in any way to give us strength.  Thank you for the food, flowers, cards, money and your prayers.  Your kindness will never be forgotten.
