Volney E. Swaim was born May 19, 1824 Washington Co. Indiana and died 
July 8, 1899 Marion Co. Illinios. He was the Son of Elijah Swaim and Rachel 
Davis. 
Volney Married Alice Dover Aug 8, 1848 Orange Co. Indiana, daughter of 
Abraham Dover and Rebecca Lythe. 
Volney and Alice had four children; Leander Dover, 1849, Sarah J. Nov 1851 
Died Oct 21, 1855, Harriet Isabella Swaim Mar 25, 1853 Died 1883 Peoria, Hill 
Co. Texas Alonzo Feb 1, 1855 died Jul 16 1855. 

Alice Dover died 1855 Marion Co. Illinois

Volney married Martha Jane Hyden Nov. 19, 1855 Marrion Co. Illinois 
and had six children,Flora, Lelly Lavena, Charles A., Perry, and Amanda 

Volney Swaim is buried in Dix, Marion Co. Illinois by his two children and 
wifies.
