Special Telegram to the Inter-Ocean.

Havana, Ill., Feb. 22.

The trial of the People vs. Ira Sargent for stabbing Phineas Stevens Dec. 21, 
was finished to-day. The jury returned a verdict of guilty, and he was 
sentenced to one year at hard labor in the Penitentiary.

The jury in the case of the People vs. John Griffith for the murder of Chas. 
Berry, was being impaneled to-day.
