NANA HENSON Mrs. Nana Byrd Henson, 80, died at 12:10 a.m. Monday at her home on Brookport Route One. She is survived by her husband, Charles Henson, Brookport Route One; 3 daughters, Mrs. Virgil Flowers, Paducah, KY; Mrs. Iva Lane, Oklahoma City, OK; & Mrs. Nell Babb, Kunkle, O.; 2 sons, Earnest Woods & Orris Woods, Brookport Route One; 10 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, 22May, at Mt. Sterling church with Rev. Joe Russell officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. METROPOLIS NEWS - 30MAY1946 - ANNA BYRD POE Anna Byrd Poe, daughter of Sarah Adeline & Henry Alexander Poe, was born 10Sep1865, departed this life at her home near Unionville on 20May at 12:10 a.m., being 80 years, 2 months & 10 days of age at the time of her death. On 22Jul1883, she was married to Francis Woods. To this union was born 5 children. Two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Babb, Kunkle, OH; & Mrs. Dave Lane, Oklahoma City, OK. Three sons, Orris & Ernest Woods, both of Brookport. Ray Woods another son preceded her in death several years ago. Her husband departed this life on 11Dec1889. On 19Feb1893, she was married to Charles Augustus Henson & to this union was born 1 daughter, Mrs. Una Flowers, Paducah, KY. Early in life she became a Christian & united with Mt. Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She lived in the same community all her life & was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed & was a neighbor loved by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband; 5 children; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchilden; & a host of other relatives & friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, 2 o'clock at Mt. Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Brother Joe Rusell officiating. Music was furnished by Kennedy Funeral Home Quartet. Flowers girls were Juanita Roberts, Mary Giltner, Lora Lawrence, Mabel Dye, Dorothy Wymer, Goldie Lois Wymer, Verna Wymer, Loyce Angelly & Vida Maess. Pall bearers were John Angelly, Walter Giltner, George Owens, Robert Giltner, Jeff Kickasola & Charles Lawrence. Interment was made in the Mt. Sterling cemetery.
