HENSON Charles Augustus Henson, son of Thomas Jefferson & Melissa Jane Henson, was born in Pope Co., IL, 19Apr1874. Departed this life Monday morning, 31Mar, at 12:40, being the age of 72 years, 11 months & 12 days. He was united in marriage to Anna Byrd Woods 19Feb1899. To this union 1 daughter was born, Euna, who so tenderly cared for him all through his illness & suffering. Mr. Henson was a member of the Mt. Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church since 1911, & later became an elder of the church. He was an active Christian as long as his health would permit. For 48 years his life was spent on the farm home above Unionville, just having recently sold his farm, he moved to Brookport, where he lived only a few weeks. Those left to mourn the loss of this dear father & brother are his daughter, Mrs. Virgil Flowers, Brookport; 1 sisster, Mrs. Printhia Sisk, Brookport; 2 brothers, Frank Henson, Cincinnatti & Samuel Henson, Metropolis. Six nephews, 6 nieces & a host of friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, 02Apr, from the Mt. Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. A. Moore officiating. Music was furnished by the Kennedy Funeral Home Quartet. Pall bearers were Charles Lawrence, John Angelly, Jeff Kickasola, Walter Giltner, Robert Giltner, Willie Giltner, Francis Giltner & George Giltner. Interment was made in the Mt. Sterling Cemetery.
