METROPOLIS MASSAC JOURNAL - 21AUG1875 - DIED
On Sunday the 15th inst. at his residence in Jackson precinct, this county, in 
the 76th year of his age, A. R. Poe.
Mr. Poe was an old resident, of this county, having emigrated from Harrison 
county, Indiana, to this place over 20 years ago.  He was man of quiet, 
industrious habits, respected in his neighborhood & loved by his neighbors & by 
his children, of whom several are honored citizens of this county.  Peace to 
his ashes.
