Obituary of Effie Trout, Massac County, Illinois Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Misty Flannigan Obituary: Effie TROUT, daughter of Thomas and Emma Owens, was born in Massac County, Illinois, Sept. 1, 1895; departed this life at the Mt. Vernon Hospital after a very short illness on Aug. 31, 1931, at 8:20 a.m. She was married to Charles E. Trout on June 1, 1916. To this union were born three daughters, namely; Gldays, Dorotha, and Jacqueline. Some ten years prior to death, she professed faith in Christ, and was baptized in belief but never united with any church. Her life was one of service. When her neighbors needed her, she was always there ready to help them, and by her manner of life won the friendship of all that knew her. She was a true and devoted wife, a loving mother and a good neighbor, and in her passing we suffer great loss, but our loss is her eternal gain. She has Just gone from labor to reward. She leaves to mourn her passing the above named companion and children, one brother, Fred Owens of Brookport, Ill., two sisters, Malissa, wife of Amos Metcalf of Brookport, Aline, wife of John Olsman of Moline, Ill., and a host of other relatives and friends. We weep not as those that have no hope, for we expect to meet her by and by. Funeral services were held at Mt. Olivet Church September 2, conducted by Elder John B. Maulding, assisted by Elder D. H. Knight. ------------------------------------------------------------------ USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organiza- tions or persons.
