              DEATH OF MRS. TAFFE
Another Well-Remembered Name Carved Upon the Tomb.
--Mrs. Catherine Harrod Taffe died at the residence
of her son-in-law, Spencer Huntington, in Warren
township, near Atlanta, on May 17th. She was an old
resident of Bloomington, having moved to this city in
1852, residing here several, and occupying the 
residence now occupied by Judge Benjamin. She was the
mother of ten children. One died in infancy; Milton, a 
machinist, died in this city. The others are Hannibal
Taffe, Mrs. Sarah Huntington; Hon. John Taffe, of 
Omaha, Neb., formerly editor of the Omaha Bee, and later
Congressman from that district; Mrs. Joshua Kelly, of
Normal, Ill.; James Taffe, who died in 1861; Benjamin
Taffe, now in Missouri, and for many years a resident of
Heywort, Normal and Bloomington, and Miss Katherine
Taffe, a well known teacher. Mrs. Taffe was a member of
the well-known Harrod family of Kentucky, and was born
in 1799 and married in 1820. She is remembered as a
most amiable Christian woman by all th eold residents
who knew her. She was a member of the Christian church.
