Personally came before me, a Circuit Clerk, in and for aforesaid County and State, Elizabeth WHITE, aged 64 years and whose respective Post-Office addresses are as follow: Oakford County of Menard, State of Illinois, and who, being duly sworn, declare My residence and post office address in 1864 was Menard County, in the state of Illinois and Oakford my P.O. address and remained the same until in January 9th, 1874 when I removed to Winterset, Iowa where I remained until 19th day of April 1882 when I again removed back to Menard County, state of Illinois near Oakford, which is my post office at present and during all of the time from 1864 up to the present I have not had any family of my own or any home only as I found it among strangers that I was at work for, and during all the time there has not any one ever been legally or otherwise bound for my support only as I worked and earned my money which I am scarcely able to do now. I further declair that I have no interest in the above claim neither direct or indire and am not conserned in it prosecution. We also know this by our familiar association with him in our neighborhood and that the said Mrs. Elizabeth WHITE has not remarried but is still a widow we know this from our intimate acquaintance with hir for many years. As to balance of your inquiry7, I am credibly informed that he is not related to Elizabeth WHITE, but previous to about two year ago she lived with him for some time. While here her standing was not absolutely bad, but living with, and being supported by an unmarried man, deprived her, in a manner of that high standing in community which she would have enjoyed under different circumstances. Lemon, Washington, DC Relationship, Celibacy Filed: June 5, 83 Claimant testifies that her residence and post office address in 1864 was Oakford, Menard Co., Ill until January 9, 1874, when she removed to Winterset, Iowa, where she remained until April 19, 1882, when she again removed to Menard Co., Ill with Oakland as her post office address. From 1864 to the present time she had no family of her own or any home, only as she found it amongst stragglers, no one was bound legally or otherwise to support her. Septbr 8, 1884 Claimant testifies that she is unable to furnish any more evidence of her neighbors as to her son working for them as his father always controled him and kept him to work for his own benefit until about two years prior of his going in the army, for which he received for himself and with it had rented a farm and they were getting ready to go on it, but during the time he was drafted and claimant was left to her own support and has been ever since.
