All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/il/ilfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Deb Haines http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00003.html#0000719 July 14, 2012, 2:32 pm Nineteenth Annual Report of the Illinois Bureau of Labor Statistics, 1900 November 3, 1899, Oscar Mingerhausen, a driver, aged 29 years, married, was fatally injured by being run over by a trip of cars in the Chicago and Kansas City Coal Co.’s mine, Petersburg, Menard county; he was coming out on the east side of the shaft with his trip of cars, when, from some unknown cause, he fell in front of the cars; at this place on the roadway the cars run on a light grade. A few minutes after the accident R. Snedden, superintendent of the mine, found him under the cars, he was calling for help. The superintendent had him taken from under the cars, and sent home, where he died in about six hours. Deceased leaves a widow and one child.
