Deceased had lighted a blast on the right hand rib, in his working room, and retired to a cross-cut about eight yards back from the working face; he passed through the cross-cut into the adjoining room, then passed along this room, and when exactly opposite the prepared blast in his own room, it exploded; the pillar being thin, the coal was blown through, striking deceased, crushing his head and body, with re___ as stated. About one ton of coal was blown through the opening.
