The rock that fell on deceased was about twenty feet long, nearly the width of the room, three and one-half feet wide, and nine inches thick at the thickest part, tapering to a feather edge at the outside. Deceased was in the act of wedging down some top-coal when the mass of rock fell; it broke close off at the coal face. A son of deceased was working with him at the time of the accident, and had his foot slightly injured by the same fall.
