Warren Morrow

Warren R. Morrow, 76, Joy, died Wednesday, April 8, 1998, at Trinity Medical 
Center, West, Rock Island.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. The Rev. 
Rachel Stockle of Joy United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in 
the Peniel Cemetery, rural Joy. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at 
the funeral home, where memorials may be left for the Joy United Methodist 
Church.

Warren was born May 18, 1921, in Millersburg Township, a son of Frank W. and 
Florence Willits Morrow. He graduated from Joy High School and attended AIC in 
Davenport. He married Phyllis Mitchell April 6, 1940, in Des Moines. They 
celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary,

He was born and lived on the same farm all of his life, building a new home 
there in 1974. He retired from full time farming in 1994. He was an amateur 
taxidermist, a life long fisherman and hunter and enjoyed the wildlife and 
Indian lore of the area and painting landscapes.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis, son and a daughter-in-law, Gail and Linda 
Morrow, Aledo, son, John Morrow, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughter and son-in-law, 
Twyla and Jim Holmes, Aledo; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a 
brother and sister-in-law, Clair and Pearl Morrow, Aledo. He was preceded in 
death by his parents, a son, James, a granddaughter, Tamara Sue Morrow, and a 
sister, Helen Morrow.
