Phyllis Morrow

Phyllis L. Morrow, 80, Aledo, formerly of Joy, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at 
Mercer County Hospital, Aledo.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. The Rev. Carl 
Stoldt, College Avenue Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial is in Peniel 
Cemetery, rural Joy. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. 
Memorials may be made to the church.

She was born Jan. 3, 1920, in Mannon, Ill., the daughter of Fred Sr. and Ivy 
Kerch Mitchell. She attended Aledo schools and graduated from Joy High School. 
She married Warren R. Morrow April 6, 1940, in Des Moines. He died April 8, 
1998.

She was employed 14 years by the State of Illinois and two years by Mercer 
County Hospital. She was a homemaker and member of College Avenue Presbyterian 
Church.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Twyla and James Holmes, Aledo; 
sons and a daughter-in-law, Gail and Linda Morrow, Joy, and John Morrow, 
Keithsburg; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ethel 
Johnson, Moline, and Darlene Erickson, Rock Island. She was preceded in death 
by her parents; a son,James W.; four brothers; and a granddaughter, Tamara.

Burial:Peniel Cemetery
