John Armentrout died October 27, 1887 in Witt, Il. John Taylor Armentrout Died at his residence in Witt township, October 27, 1887, John Taylor Armentrout of milksickness, aged 38 years, five months and 18 days. He was born in Montgomery County, May 9, 1849 and was educated in the county schools and his occupation was farming. He filled the offices of town clerk, tax collector and supervisor of Witt township. He married September 14, 1871 in Witt township to Rebecca Vermillion. He was one of our best citizens and a member of the M.E. Church. The funeral took place on Friday at his residence, conducted by Reverand Driver. A large procession followed the remains to the old family cemetery where he was laid to rest. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss, who have the sympathy of the community.
