Obituary of Mrs. Thomas Eddington - Montgomery County, Illinois The person in this obit is the maternal great, great grandmother of Olin Clayton of Raymond. Hillsboro Journal MRS. THOMAS EDDINGTON SUCCUMBS NEAR WITT Funeral Friday For Well-Known Resident There Mrs. Thomas Eddington, long time resident of the Witt community, passed away at her farm home located one mile south of Witt, October 29, at 7 a.m. She had been in failing health for sometime, her condition due largely to advanced age. Mrs. Eddington was born in Brighton township, May 17, 1862 and died well past her 85th year. She was a daughter of the late Samuel and Betsy (Browning) Eddington, who were born in Somersetshire, England. On February 19, 1889 she and Thomas Eddington were united in marriage in Brighton, Il. He survives with the following children: Mrs. John Armentrout of Witt township. Harvey Eddington of Taylorville, Elmer of Witt township and Charles of Irving. Two children died in infancy. One sister, Mrs. Hugh Moxey of Bunker Hill also survives. Two sisters and one brother preceded her in death. Mrs. Eddington died in the home in which she and her family had lived for 53 years. She left a host of friends in the community in which she spent such a long useful life. Early in her life she united with a Congregational church. The body was removed to the Stauder and Hoehn Funeral Home in Witt. Funeral services are to be conducted Friday afternoon, October 31 at 1:30 p.m. from the Irving Lutheran Church.
