Obituary of Warren F. Hulbert - Montgomery County, Illinois This was the paternal great grandfather of Olin Clayton HILLSBORO JOURNAL August 27, 1959 WARREN HULBERT LIFELONG RESIDENT DIES IN HOSPITAL Warren F. Hulbert, a lifelong resident of Nokomis, died in Hillsboro Hospital at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, August 20, where he was a patient two days. A sufferer from a heart condition for some time, Mr. Hulbert suffered frequent attacks in recent months. He was aged 82 years, 9 months and 19 days. Mr. Hulbert was born on the farm of his parents, the late Mr and Mrs. Warren M. Hulbert, on November 1, 1876 and he continued to reside on the same farm all of his life and was married there to Miss Lulu Gage on December 5, 1898. Their children were born and reared there, also and all attended the Nokomis schools and all graduated from Nokomis High School and all became members of the First Baptist Church in Nokomis, a record seldom equaled by another family. The decedent was one of the oldest members of the First Baptist Church in years of membership, having become a member on March 5, 1891, serving faithfully for more than 68 years. Besides his widow, Mr. Hulbert is survived by three sons, Lloyd W. of Nokomis, Howard E. of Battle Creek, Michigan and Everett W. of Bellevue, Michigan and four daughters, Suavilla, wife of Leo Clayton, Nokomis; Grace, wife of H.L. Ponder, Lilbourn, Missouri; Edna, wife of Dr. J.W. Helm, Gridley, Il and Ida May, wife of Orval Yordy of Flanagan, all of whom were present at their father's funeral service. He also leaves 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home. Rev. Ralph Williams, pastor of the First Baptist Church was the officiant. Mrs. Vern Meier was soloist and Mrs. Roger Hoffman was organist. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
