Obituary of Abigail Chapman-Geddy - Montgomery County, Illinois The following obit is that of Abigail (Chapman) Clayton Geddy, the paternal great, great, grandmother of Olin Clayton of Raymond. "Alton Newspaper" February 1, 1934 Funeral services for Mrs. Abigail Geddy was held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Upper Alton Baptist Church where services were conducted by the Pastor, the Rev. A.A. Hobson, assisted by the Rev. S.D. McKenny, an old friend of Mrs. Geddy. Mrs. Fox accompanied by Mrs. Owen sang three selections, "Will There Be Any Stars in My Crown," "It Is Well With My Soul," and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." The pallbearers were Messrs McPhillips, Kinsman, Medler, S.L. Moore, Frank Stobbs and John Moll. Relatives from out of town present were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clayton of Oconee, Il, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bradford and son of Decatur and Leo Clayton of Witt, Il. Immediately after the services, the cortege left for Nokomis, Il, where burial took place in the Prospect Hill Cemetery. The relatives were accompanied to Nokomis by Dr. Hobson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Huminert, Mrs. Fox and Mrs. Abe Sargent. Interment was beside the body of Mrs. Geddy's husband, Dr. W. H.
