Obituary of Martha Hulbert - Montgomery County, Illinois This is the obit of Martha Hulbert the paternal 2nd great grandmother of Olin Clayton of Raymond, Il. "FREE-PRESS GAZETTE" On November 11, south of Nokomis, Mrs. Martha J. Hulbert, aged 69 years, 8 months and 23 days. Mrs. Martha J. Hulbert, late consort of Warren M. Hulbert, was born near Zanesville, this county, February 17, 1835. At the age of 31 years, she moved with her parents to Litchfield, two years later the family moved to Hillsboro and later to Christian County. On April 7, 1875, she was united in marriage to Warren M. Hulbert, who survives her. To this union was born one son, Warren Franklin Hulbert, with whom the aged couple made their home and at whose home she died and one daughter, who died in infancy. Besides her bereaved husband and son, she leaves a twin sister, Margaret C. Traylor, two brothers, three stepchildren, Miss Jennie Hulbert of Alton, Mrs. Peter Lohr of Campbell, Texas and E.M. Hulbert of Lancaster, Texas, two grandchildren and eight step grandchildren and many friends mourn her demise. She was of a quiet and retired disposition and a kind hearted mother and bore her illness, which lasted for almost a year, with great patience.
