She was married to Elijah Wright Nov. 13, 1851. To this union was born 7 children. The living ones are: Camilla Nelson of Montgomery County, Celestina Whitten, of Montgomery County, Joseph Jefferson of Ramsey, Ill., and Emmerson of Houston, Texas. There is also left 21 grand children and 8 great grand children. For over thirty years she had been afflicted and a constant sufferer, and for 25 years helpless. She endured all with Christian fortitude. She never made a public profession of her hope in the Savior, but spoke to her husband in regard to what the Lord had done for her giving her the blessed assurance that when her sufferings on earth had ended, there awaited her a rest in heaven. To others also did she express her hopes. Then let us mourn not as them that have no hope. The following verses she said expressed her feelings as she looked forward to her release from her sufferings: She shall sleep but not forever, There shall be a glorious dawn; We shall meet to part no never On the resurrection morn. The heaven born spirit is tied Her wish is accomplished at last And now she's entombed with the dead. The month of affliction are over The days and the nights of distress We see her in anguish no more. She's gained her happy release. The funeral services were conducted at the Lutheran church, by Elder F. M. Pope and Elder H. C. Card. The remains were laid to rest in the Fillmore cemetery.
