Isaac was the son of Solomon Kobel and Hannah Houpt. Isaac Kobel was born 1819 in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. He apparently was a farmer. Isaac married Sarah "Sally" Welker. Sally was born in 1827 in Northumberland County. Little is known of Sarah "Sally" Welker and her ancestors. It is believed that Isaac and Sally had seven (7) children: Peter Harrison, Catherine, Luther, Lydia Ann, Josiah, Jeremiah, and Sarah. Land records indicate than an "Isaac Cobble" owned 225 acres in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. Sometime after the 1850 census, Isaac Kobel moved his family to Illinois and eventually settled near Forreston, Brookville Township, Ogle County, Illinois. Sometime between the 1870 census and the 1880 census, Sarah "Sally" Welker Kobel died. Her burial place is unknown. At the age of fifty-five (55), Isaac Kobel married Eliza J. Lehman on September 16, 1882 in Oregon, Ogle County, Illinois. The marriage was performed by W.W. Shuler, Minister of the Gospel. Isaac listed his occupation as "Laborer" and his place of residence as Brookville, Illinois. Eliza J. Lehman was a widow. Her maiden surname was "Rudasill". Eliza was also a resident of Brookville, Ogle County, Illinois. She was forty-four (44) years old when she married Isaac Kobel. Eliza was born in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Her mother's maiden surname was "Sprung".
