Beach Cemetery Prairie Nature Preserve, Ogle Co., IL

Location and Access: From the junction of Ill. Rt. 251 and Ill. Rt. 64, go
north on Ill. 251 about 5 miles to Big Mound Road.  Turn west and travel 2.75
miles.  The Cemetery Prairie is on the north side of the road just .25 miles
east of White Rock Road. 
			
Owner: Natural Land Institute (815-964-6666)													
Size: 2.5 acres													
Description: This dry hill prairie is located on a gravel kame and includes
little bluestem, prairie dropseed, and porcupine grass.  Other plant species
on this small prairie are pasqueflower, puccoons, prairie smoke, leadplant,
and coneflowers.
