Obituary for John Pankhurst, Ogle County, Illinois July 14, 1896 John Pankhurst, whose illness caused by being knocked down by a bicycle we announced some days since, died at his home in Grand Detour last evening at eight o'clock aged eighty-six years. Born in England (Westfield, Sussex), June 12, 1810; he moved to America in 1850, and came from Pennsylvania to Grand Detour a year later where he has lived since that time. Mr. Pankhurst was about thirty years the efficient and trusted foreman of the Grand Detour Plow Company and gained the respect not only of his employers, but the entire company. He leaves to mourn his loss the following: one brother and three sisters in England; also three sons and a daughter, viz: Stephen of Oregon, IL; William of Dixon; Dr. James of Grand Detour and Mrs. C.E.(Salina) Loomis of Eugene, OR, and a brother George of Colorado. The wife and mother died some three years since. George Pankhurst, brother of the deceased, came from Breckenridge, Colorado, to attend the funeral, which takes place tomorrow, Thursday, afternoon at half past two o'clock. The Rev. H.C.
