From the GLASFORD GAZETTE, Glasford, IL; on November 14, 1907 Abram Maple (His full name is Abraham) Mr. Abram Maple passed away about one o'clock Friday morning. He had been worse for several days and death came as a relief to his terrible suffering. He had suffered for years with a cancer on his face, and had been treated by many doctors, but seemed to give only temporary relief, death finally delivering him from his suffering. Abram Maple was born March 28, 1930, died December 15,1907. In the year 1832 he came with his father from the state of Ohio to Peoria county and has been a resident of this county every since with the exception of 24 years residence in the state of Missouri. On Dec. 26, 1850, he was married to Miss Louisa Watrous, who died March 27, 1873. To this union six children were born, two dying in infancy. On Feb 14, 1877, he was united in marriage to Miss Lydia Batton, who with eight children survive him. He has been a member of the Baptist church for sixty years, living a consistent Christian life. Also a member of the K. P. Lodge for about fifty years. He was a highly respected and useful man and will long be remembered in the community where he has lived. The funeral will be held Daturday morning at the Baptist church. Interment at Maple Ridge.
