Maquoketa Sentinel-Press, July 25, 2015
Mary Lucille Gombert Barker passed away in her home in Maquoketa, Iowa, on July 
22, 2015.
 She was born to Anton Gombert and Christina Jorgenson on May 26, 1925. She was 
born on a farm in Perry Township, Jackson County, Iowa. She graduated from 
Maquoketa High School in 1943.
 Those left to honor Mary’s memory include her children Dion L. (Betty) Wilson 
of Peoria, Ill.; Charmayne McMurray of Dubuque, Iowa; Mary Elaine Mercado of 
Maquoketa; Dona Bennett of Maquoketa; Doris (Joe) King of Cedar Rapids; Steven 
(Judy) Wiebenga of Maquoketa; Wendy (Terry) Smith of Davenport, Iowa.
 She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and daughter Tony Wise.
 Family graveside services were held on Friday, July 24. Burial will be in the 
Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa. Lahey Funeral & Cremation Service in Maquoketa 
is assisting the family.
