Fon Du Lac Cemetary Burial Records
Funeral Services for J. F. Hammond, 74 years old, 200 Constantine street, Peoria
Heights, justice of the 
peace in that village, were held at 2:30 today at the Hayward mortuary.  Burial was
in Fondulac cemetery.  
Mr. Hammond was born in Wesley City May 12, 1852.  He is survived by one son,
William, of Peoria.

Additional Comments:
It gives his middle initial as F but on the 1860 census for Tazewell County, he is
listed as Jasper Newton.  
He also was born in 1859, not 1852 as the obit states.  At this time, he may have
been the last child of 
William M. and Marie (Louie) Hammond and so his obit was prepared by his sister in
law, Dora Hammond, 
wife of his brother John Franklin, who died in 1929.  He left his family years
earlier and from talking with 
his grandchildren, Helen Healy and Doc Hammond, he probably was not welcomed back
into the family 
graciously.
