June 3, 1910, #22, Post Oak Flats -- Mr. Jackson Logan died Monday May 30 at 5 o'clock p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dan Gass. Wm. Brayfield and wife, Rube Logan and wife, and Mrs. Will Marlow of DuQuoin attended the funeral of Jack Logan at Rice Wednesday. The deceased was a brother of Ruben Logan and father of Way Logan. June 25, 1911, #25 -- Tax Rubin Logan Sect 11 TW4 R3 SWNE 40 402.00 NWSE 40 434.00 May 5, 1912, #18 -- Rubin Logan Eye injured A sad accident occured to Rubin Logan of this city last Thursday while engaged in work on his barn. In trying to drive a large nail into his barn it was necessary for him to reach a little above his head. In some way the nail flew out of his fingers and peirced into his right eye ball sticking there until he pulled it out. Medical aid was at once given him, and at this time it is thought that he will lose the sight of this eye. He has suffered intense pain since the accident, but it is hoped by his many friends that he will recover. November 20, 1914, #47 -- Bert Logan and Family who have been living on Route 3 are now residents of Pinckneyville, having moved in with formers parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Logan. Miss Cora Corpenny of Oakdale came Sunday for a visit with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rudloff [sic: Reuben] Logan. August 6, 1915 -- 33 Annual soldiers and sailors reunion -- Below is a list of soldiers still alive in Pinckneyville and vicinity. These names were furnished by Mr. Roy Briese and doubtless includes all who are still with us. List -- Gustave Wangelen, J.P. Rial, John Stahlheber, Henery Appel, H.P. Huntsinger, John Galloway, S.W. Reynolds, Chas. H. Roe, W.A. Craig, O.K. Jones, John L. Walker, Henery Bommerschein, Michael Eicholz, Joshua Lemmons, A.J. Logan [sic: should be J.W. Logan], Ruben Logan, Anderson Pyron, George Fisher, Alex Craig, John Todd, Matthew Rule, William Drimeyer, William Cross, William Godwin, Jacob Ginn, James L. Armstrong, John P. Campbell, Michael O'Neil, Henery C. Lacy, Joshua M. Rice, Thomas Fee, James J. Brown, W.H. Milligan, J.C. Keene, George Shute, J.A. Wilks, Isaac Burns, Simpson Greene. Following were soldiers in later wars -- Ephraim Clyburn, Perry Purcell and William Sandford. July 7, 1916, #27 -- Mesdames Wm. Williamson and George Corpenny returned to their home in Oakdale Monday morning, being called here by the serious illness of their father Ruben Logan. Mr. Logan has been very ill for the past 4 weeks, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Will Marlow living east of this city. August 4, 1916, #31 -- James Smith of Nashville was here Friday to attend the funeral of Rubin Logan. August 25, 1916, #34 -- Last Sunday evening quite a storm visited Pinckneyville. About 6 o'clock the fire boys were called to the residence of Mrs. Ruben Logan on Parker Street, the lightning having struck the N.E. corner of the dwelling tearing up a considerable part of the roof and ceiling, and one window. Mrs. Logan was absent from home at the time but the timely assistance of the neighbors and friends extinguished the flames which might have caused a total loss. September 1, 1916, #35 -- Again damaged by lightning -- The residence of Mrs. Ruben Logan was again struck by lightning last Saturday evening about 6 o'clock. This is a strange coincidence in which twice in one week the same house was damaged in the same place except that the front wall was damaged the second time. Mrs. Logan had carpenters repairing the damaged parts Saturday from that of the Sunday previous and they had no more than finished their work, when it was again damaged, just how or why it happened no one knows. Luckily no one was in the house at the time. January 15, 1917, #1 -- Mrs. William Williamson of Oakdale returned to her home Friday afternoon after a visit here with her brother J.B. Logan and Mother Mrs. Ruben Logan. March 29, 1918 -- New Headstones Arrived I have received from the Government the following head stones for soldiers of the Civil War, namely James W. July 6, 1923, #27 -- Miss Will Marlow and little daughter Maxine of Tamaroa are spending the week at the bedside of her mother Mrs. Anna Logan, who has been very ill the past week. Friday, November 23, 1928 -- Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Logan of Indianapolis, Ind. were weekend visitors here with his parents Mr. and Mrs. James Logan, their coming at this time due to the illness of the father. February 1, 1929, Tamaroa -- Mrs. Anna Logan celebrated her 85 birthday at the home of her daughter Mrs. Wm. Brayfield last Sunday. Her son Bert Logan and wife of Pinckneyville and daughter Mrs. Will Marlow and family of this city helped her enjoy the day. Friday, March 1, 1929 -- Mrs. Anna Logan dies -- On going to press we learned of the death of Mrs. Anna Logan at the home of her daughter Mrs. William Brayfield in Tamaroa at the age of 85.
