"Bob" Logan. Submitted by Mike Jones. [Note: June 8, 1917, marriage license] Jimmy Married in Khaki Uniform James Logan and Miss Blanche Helen Norbury, both of Pinckneyville, were married at the Baptist parsonage Sunday afternoon, the pastor, Rev. I.E. Lee officiating. The ceremony was simple and impressive and the affair very quiet, the bride's sister, Mrs. Mattie Anderson, being the only attendant. There were no fril~s, veils or flowers, the bride being gowned in a becoming dress, while the groom wore "not the conventional black," but his khaki uniform. A wedding supper was served the newly weds and the members of the immediate families and a few intimate friends at the home of the bride's parents. The groom is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Logan of this city and for the past several years carried the mail and drove the bus line conducted by his father, and during that time made many friends with the traveling pubiic, who will join their host of Pinckneyville friends in wishing them well. His bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter N. Norbury and the only child in the parental home and is a very estimable young lady. The marriage of this worthy couple was a surprise to the majority of their friends as the groom enlisted a few weeks ago to fight for "Uncle Sam," and had been in St. Louis preparatory to leaving. He came to this city Saturday evening and decided before saili?g the seas of warfare to embark on the canoe of mattimony. Mrs. Logan is the first war brlde in this city, but the writer predicts there will be others. Mr. Logan departed Sunday evening for St. Louis where he joined his company and left for San Antonio, Texas. The Advocate joins their friends in extending congratulations and wishing the groom a safe rehrm. ***************************************************************** USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
