Obituary of Hugh MANNY, Piatt County, Illinois This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Diane Rayburn IVESDALE YOUNG MAN DIES 26 March 1925 Hugh Manny, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. C.Y. Manny, died in St. Mary's hospital, Decatur Saturday 11.30 am Death was caused by pressure on the brain. He had been in ill health the last month. Hugh was born in Ivesdale June 29 [Next 3 lines unreadable] Parochial school until two years ago when he entered Bement High school. He was a star football player on the Bement team of '24. He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Mary and Helen and two brothers, Harry and Clyde. Besides a number of relatives and friends, who are deeply grieved by his untimely death, as his sunny disposition made him a favourite with all who knew him. Funeral services were held Monday morning at St Josephs Catholic Church. The pallbearers were Russel and Melvin Rodgers, Joe Sloan, Thomas Morris, Joe Voightritter and Robert Body. eighteen flower girls carried the many beautiful floral offerings. They were;Bernadine, Phyllis, Leona, Mary and Margaret Tabaka, Loretto Gallivan, Francis Rose, Doris Wiggins, Helen O'Laughlin, Dorothea Bicks, Madelaine Milligan, Marguerite Belmant, Margaret Whalen, Helen Brooks, Josephine McGrath, Gertrude Clark and Marguerite Dunn. This was one of the largest funerals ever held in Ivesdale. Among the out of town people were; Mrs. F. Stevens and Charles O'Keefe, St Louis; Frank and Clyde Manny, Springfield; Mrs. M Brooks and daughter, Margaret; Mrs. George Hannon Sr. and Emmet Rodgers, all of Decatur; Ed. Rodgers, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Gallivan; Mrs. Otis Wiggins and daughters; Mrs J.
