'Willie' Leischner, 75, of rural Weldon, died at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 1992 at Covenant Medical Centre Urbana. Graveside services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18 in DeLand cemetery, with Rev. Al Heim officiating. Trigg and Calvert Funeral Home DeLand, was in charge of arrangements. Mr Leischner was born Feb 23, 1927 in DeLand, son of William and Winnie Ellis Leischner. He married Margaret K. Weber May 12, 1947 in Bowling Green Ohio. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Vernelle 'Vern' Leischner of Mount Zion; William 'Bill' Leischner of Wedon; and Scott Leischner of Farmer City; brother, Ellis E. 'Bud' Leischner of DeLand; sister Marjory Eash of Benicia, California; and Darlene Thompson of Dewitt; six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Mr Leischner was a retired farmer and and Army veteran of world War 11. He was a member of the DeLand United Methodist Church, the DeLand American Legion Post 102, the International Tractor Pull Association, and a 50 year member of DeLand Masonic Lodge, Bloomington Consistory, Ansar Shrine.
