Book No. 53 Estate No. 768 Last Will and Testament of Henry Cassell Made and published the 30th day of March 1905. Filed August 7, 1905, Charles C. Griener, clerk Abated and admitted this record by me, this 4th day of September 1905, H.C. Mills, county judge, recorded in will of record T page 53 The last will and testament of Henry Cassell, in the village of Florid, in the County of Putnam, in the state of Illinois, made and published the 30th day of March, in the year of our Lord, one thousand, nine hundred, five. In the name of God, Amen. I, Henry Cassell, of the village of Florid, in the village of Florid, in the county of Putnam, in the state of Illinois, at the age of 78 years, being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make, published and declare this my last will and testament in the manner following, that is to say: First: It is my will that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid Second: I give and bequeath to my wife, Sarah A. Cassell, all of my real estate limit in the village of Florid or adjoining said village on the west of lot number 29 and east of the school house grounds being about 1/2 acre. On which tract of land is situated my dwelling house and is our homestead at this date. Also all of the household goods in said dwelling house, of what soever name or kind to her own use forever and to have the power to sell the same as she deems best, both real and personal property that I may be possessed of at the time of my death. Also $6,000 in addition to the foregoing bequest. Second: I give to each of my living brothers and sister, $500, each being John Cassell, and Esther Albert or if not living at the time of my death, then to their heirs to be divided, share and share alike. To the children of my deceased brothers and sisters, herein named, to the living children of Augustus Cassell, Joseph Cassell, Christian Cassell, Michael Cassell, Sophia Albert, and Rosannah Allen, they to receive, share and share alike of $500 that their parents would have received if living. Third: I give to my nephew, David Albert, $500, first after the bequest to my wife has been paid. If there remains a residue of my estate, after the foregoing legacies are paid, I hereby give to my wife, Sara A. Cassell, all of the remaining of my estate. Lastly I hereby appoint and nominate Joseph B. Albert to be the executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness thereof, I have set my hand and seal, the 30th day of March, in year of our Lord, one thousand, nine hundred and five. Albert, of the county of Putnam, in the state of Illinois respectfully represents unto Your Honor, that he is duly appointed, qualified, acting executor of the last will and testament of Henry Cassell, late of the county of Putnam, in the state of Illinois, deceased. Here petitioner further represents unto Your Honor, that the said Henry Cassell, deceased in and by his last will and testament, gave certain legacies as follows to wit: To Sarah A. Cassell his widow, he gave the sum of $6000, to John Cassell and Esther Albert, each the sum of $500, to the living children of Augustus Cassell, the sum of $500, to the living children of Joseph Cassell, the sum of $500, to the living children of Christian Cassell, the sum of $500, to the living children of Michael Cassell, the sum of $500, to the living children of Sophia Albert, the sum of $500, to the living children of Rosannah Allen, the sum of $500, to David Albert, the sum of $500. Your petitioner further represents unto Your Honor, that the said Sarah A. Cassell, widow of the said Henry Cassell, deceased and the said John Cassell, Esther Albert and David Albert are each and all still living. Here petitioner further represents unto Your Honor that the children of the said Augustus Cassell, living at the time of the death of the said Henry Cassell, deceased and who by the terms of the last will and testament of the said Henry Cassell, deceased are entitled to received a legacy their under are as follows to wit: John Henry Cassell, William B. Cassell, Allson K. Cassell, Rufus L. Cassell, Mary E. Murphy, Isadora Pool. Your petitioner further represents unto Your Honor that the children of the said Joseph Cassell, living at the time of the death of the said Henry Cassell, deceased and who by the terms of the last will and testament of the said Henry Cassell, deceased are entitled to received a legacy there under are as follows to wit: Ephriam Cassell, Philip A. Cassell, now deceased, Jane Youngdal, now deceased leaving her surviving Philip A. Barnett, her son and Emma Cassell only heir at law. Your petitioner further represents unto Your Honor that the children of the said Christian Cassell, living at the time of the death of the said Henry Cassell, deceased and who by the terms of the last will and testament of the said Henry Cassell, deceased are entitled to received a legacy there under are as follows to wit:  Katherine Smith, Clara Shively, Elmer E. Cassell, Anna Daily and Benjamin Cassell Your petitioner further represents unto Your Honor that the children of the said Michael Cassell, living at the time of the death of the said Henry Cassell, deceased and who by the terms of the last will and testament of the said Henry Cassell, deceased are entitled to received a legacy there under are as follows to wit:  Della Roberts, Ida May Copenbarger now deceased, Maggie Ray, Mira Meisenhelter, Charles H. Cassell, Rebecca Hull, Mary Paron. Your petitioner further more represents unto Your Honor that the children of the said Sophia Albert, living at the time of the death of the said Henry Cassell, deceased and who by the terms of the last will and testament of the said Henry Cassell, deceased are entitled to received a legacy there under are as follows to wit:  Catherine Chandler, David Albert, Margaret Lengle, William Albert, Jacob Albert Your petitioner further more represents unto Your Honor that the children of the said Rosannah Allen, living at the time of the death of the said Henry Cassell, deceased and who by the terms of the last will and testament of the said Henry Cassell, deceased are entitled to received a legacy there under are as follows to wit:   Owen W. Allen, Eliza S. Forney, Jane Umbarger, and Cora Eberly Your petitioner further more represents unto Your Honor that Philip A. Cassell, a son of Joseph Cassell, deceased departing this life, intestate so far as your petitioner is informed to believe since the death of said Henry Cassell, leaving him surviving as his sole and only heir a law so far as your petitioner is informed to believe, Ephriam Cassell, a brother, Jane Youngdale, a sister who has departed this life since the death of the said Philip A. Cassell, leaving a son Philip A. Barnett as her sole and only heir at law so far as your petitioner is informed and believes, Emma Cassell, a sister, and William Cassell, Mary Etta Cassell Minkler, Guy Bernard Cassell, Ona Earl Cassell, Ray Calvin Cassell, children of the deceased brother, Calvin Cassell, and William T. Gardner, Rebecca McDowell, P.L. Gardner, Kate Miller, Sally Holmes and Bula Gardner, children of the deceased sister, Esther Gardner. Your petitioner further represents unto Your Honor that May Copenbarger, daughter of Michael Cassell, deceased, departed this life since the death of the said Henry Cassell, deceased, leaving her surviving as sole and only heir at law so far as your petitioner is informed and believes, Lotta Harrauff, Juna Kemp, and Mable McIntyre her children.
