Treme ************************************************************************ The Plaindealer, Friday, 12 Jan 1909 Roll of the Departed Deaths Occurring in Sparta and Vicinity During Past Week and Place of Internment. SARAH J. MCGUIRE. Sarah J., wife of Mr. H. E. McGuire, died at the family home two and one-half miles northwest of Sparta, at 11:10 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 7, aged 47 years, 1 month and 17 days. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mrs. Thompson, and was born on the farm six miles southeast of Sparta, and always lived in this community. She was a member of a family of six children, all of whom are deceased except two. Mr. W. J. Thompson, of Chicago, and Miss Ada Thompson, of this city. She was united in marriage with Mr. H. E. McGuire in 1884. To this union two children were born, Harry T. and Mary L. both of whom survive and remain at home with their father. Deceased enlisted in the cause of christianity and nearly all her life was active in church affairs, and during her last illness she expressed the utmost faith in the final home of the christian beyond the grave. The funeral services was held at the family residence at 1 o'clock p.m, Saturday, Jan. 9, and were conducted y the Rev. James McIlroy. Internment was at Caledonia cemetery. In this connection the family desires to express their gratitude to the neighbors and friends for their many kindnesses during the illness and at the funeral of the beloved wife and mother.
