Administrator's Bond May 1805, Box 121 Randolph Co., ILL Bond of James Gilbreath, Adm. to the Estate of John Williams, Dec'd, to Judge of Probate, Co. of Randolph. Know all men by these presents we James Gilbreath, Robert Reynolds and William Rilley do hold our selves indebted and firmly bound unto John Edgar, Esqr., Judge of Probate, County of Randolph, or his successor in Office in the sum of one thousand dollars good and lawfull money of the U. States, in the well and truly payment, we bind ourselves our heirs, Adm's or assignees----- The Condition of the above obligations is such that if the within bounden James Gilbreath, Administrator of all and singular the goods, chattles and credits of John Williams dec'd, late of the County aforesaid do make or cause to be made a true and perfect of all and singular the goods chattles and credits of the said dec'd which has as may come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of him the said James Gilbreath or into the hands or possession of any person for him, and the same so made do assist or cause to be admitted into the Judge of Probates office in the County of Randolph aforesaid at or upon the first Tuesday of June next coming, and the same goods, chattles, and credits and all other goods, chattles and credits of the said dec'd, which at any time after may come in to the hands or possession of him the said James Gilbreath, or into the hands and possession of any other person or persons for him, do well and truly administer to law, and do further make or cause to be made a full and just account of his said administrations at or before the first Tuesday in June in the year one thousand eight hundred and six, and all the rest and residue of the said goods, chattles and credits which shall be found remain upon the said admins.or's account (the same being first examined and allowed of by the Orphan's Court of the County where the said Admins. is granted) shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons respectively, as the said Orphans court in the respective county, by their decree sentence, persuant to the true intent and meaning of law, shall limit and appoint---and if it shall hearafter appear that any last will and testement was made by the said dec'd, and the executors there in named shall exibit the same in to the Judge of Probates office, making request to have it allowed and approved accordingly, if the said James Gilbreath within bound being there unto required do render the said letters of Administration of probate of such ____ being first had, and being made in the said Probate's office, then this obligation to be void and of none effect or else to remain in full force and virtue--- As given under our hands and seals this __ day of May in the year 1805 in said Probate office. One claim upon the United States of four hundred acres by the right of Actual Improvement and Cultivations made by said John Williams prior to the 3rd of March 1791, East bank of the River Kaskaskia, about one mile below the mouth of Plumb Creek, said county of Randolph. One other claim upon the United States aforesaid of four hundred acres, it being the Donation Right of the Said John Williams, he being head of a family in one of the Illinois Villiages on the Mississippi in the year 1783.
