Doeckel Lehan doeckel!@qconline.com April 24, 2007, 3:43 am Johann Heinrich MINK born 17/Aug/1830 Cumberland Co., Maryland enlisted in the Illinois 43rd Infantry on Sept 1, 1861, and mustered in December 16, 1861. Was wounded at Pittsburg Landing, Tenn on April 6th. 1863. He received a serious wound to left hip and was sent to Cincinati, Ohio for treatment. He died 15/Dec/1866 in Cincinnati, and buried at the Spring Grove Cemetery, Section 21, Grave 648. His parents were listed as Johann David MINK and Barbarah Christina JAUS MINK,formerly of Washington, Washington Co., Iowa ( who immigrated to America in 1833 from Lieberbronn, Wurttemberg, Germany). Additional Comments: Johann Heinrich Mink never married. His father died in a logging accident in Washington, Iowa in 1848. His mother than moved to Muscatine, Iowa with brother, David Johann Mink and sister, Mary Ann Mink. His mother remarried Daniel David Hartman who farmed in Rock Island County around Buffalo Praire/Illinois City.
