Auburn [NY] Daily American April 5, 1856
The Banking House of Cook, Sargeant & Parker at Rock Island, Illinois, was 
robbed of from $2,000 to $4,000 on Tuesday of last week, in the middle of the 
day. The robbers entered and seized Mr. Thorington by the throat, and held him 
speechless, while they helped themselves to the gold.
