Mr. Brown’s body was removed to Wendt funeral home, Moline, where an inquest was scheduled today by Dr. J. W. Seids, Rock Island county coroner. The attending physician said death was caused by a basal skull fracture and shock. Improvement in the condition of Arthur Hoover, 47, of Port Byron, and his daughter, Joyce, 12 injured in the same accident, was reported today. Both are in Lutheran hospital. Born in Osborn Gregory Walter Brown was born Oct 5, 1896, at Osborn Station, a son of Mr. And Mrs. John Brown. Attending Osborn school and Port Byron academy, he married Miss Olive Disher, June 1, 1920, in Clinton, Iowa. He served overseas in an ammunition train. Surviving are the widow; his father, John Brown of Moline; two sons, Earl and Walter, both of Moline; two grandchildren; a brother Horace B. of East Moline; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Johnson of Detroit and a half-brother, John Brown, at home. His mother, a sister, Mrs. Alice Moegan, and brother, Earl, preceded him in death. Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon in Wendt Chapel, Moline. Burial will be in Weatherhead cemetery, Barstow. Additional Comments: NOTE: Article speaks of two different automobile crash fatalities.
