Horace J. Brown

Horace J. Brown, 55, of 130 15th Ave., East Moline, who lived in this 
community most of his life, died at 7:20 this morning, apparently of a heart 
attack, shortly after reporting for work at Douglas Machine & Engineering Co., 
Davenport.

He was born Dec 27, 1897, in Cuba, Mo. Fifty years ago he came to this 
community, where he since resided. He was twice married and twice divorced. In 
1916 he married Grace Guldenpfennig and, in 1925, Alice Griffin. He was 
preceded in death by his mother, two brothers and a sister.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Laurino, East Moline; Three sons, 
Stanley Brown Sanders, Colona, Gerald Brown, East Moline, and Charles Brown, 
East Moline; his father, John Brown Sr., Moline; a brother, John Brown Jr., 
Moline; a sister Mrs. Ruth Johnson, Moline; and five grandchildren.

The Body is at Esterdahl Mortuary, where friends may call after 2 tomorrow 
afternoon. The funeral will be at 10:30 Thursday morning in the Chapel, with 
the Rev. Ellis U. Youngdahl officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in 
Barstow cemetery.

Additional Comments:
The two brothers and sister that preceded Horace in death where Earl A., 
Gregory Walter Brown, and Alice J. (Brown) Moegan.
