Charles U. Brashar. Charles U. Brashar died last night at 8:45 at the home of his father, William Brashar, Brashar street, South Rock Island. Deceased had been suffering since last Saturday with pneumonia, and his sudden death will come as a great shock to his numerous friends in Rock Island and the surrounding vicinity, where he was well known. Mr. Brashar was 43 years of age and a native of Coal Valley. When he was 15 years of age his parents moved to South Rock Island and deceased had made his home there for the past 28 years. He managed a large fruit and vegetable farm. He was married April 18, 1889, to Miss Susie Thompson of Rock Island. Two children were born to this union, Roy F. and Florence E., at home. He is also survived by his father, two brothers, William Brashar of Colorado and Al F. Brashar of Black Hawk township, and a sister, Mrs. Walter Sanderson of South Rock Island. Deceased was a member of the Knights of the Modern Maccabees, Island City tent 1022, Rock Island. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 from the home of his father, and the services will be conducted by Rev. R. B. Williams, pastor of the First Methodist church.
