Mary ‘Beth' Cavins
Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Cavins, 50, of Silvis, died Friday, May 26, 2006. 

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Riverside Cemetery, 
Moline. Those attending should meet at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. 
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service and time of 
sharing at 4 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. 

Beth was born July 6, 1955, in Rock Island, daughter of Carroll and Mary
Graves Cross. She married Ed Cavins in November 1974 at St. Pius Catholic 
Church, Rock Island. 

Beth was previously employed by the Sedona Group in Moline. She attended the 
Community Christian Fellowship in Moline. 

Beth loved cats and walking by the river. She enjoyed "sister night" and was 
extremely family oriented. She was also very involved with her grandkids. 

Survivors (and spouses) inlcude her husband, Ed Cavins, Davenport; daughter, 
Brandy (Gordon) Essex, Davenport; sons, Noah Cavins and fiancee, Valerie 
Penne, Davenport, Josh Cavins, Davenport, Greg Cavins (Jenn Nichols), 
Davenport; siblings, Rita (Jay) Martin, Fountain Valley, Calif., Maureen 
Schnell, Opheim, James (Maria) Cross, East Moline, Karen Cross, Moline, Denise 
Moreland, Rock Island, Joseph (Denise) Cross, Rock Island, Barb Kelly and 
fiancee, Bill Montague, Moline, Thomas (Sharon) Cross, East Moline, Edward 
Cross, Davenport, Patricia (Timothy) Beckman, Rock Island, Vincent Cross, Rock 
Island; seven grandkids, Gordy, Dylan, Hayden, Bradley, Beyonce, Ariana and 
Zoe; and 49 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 
brothers, Mike, David and Stephen Cross.
