DIES – Guy A. Cross, 64, of 921 Fourteenth street, Rock Island, a heat 
treating inspector at the Farmall works of International Harvester company, 
died at 11 o’clock last night in St. Anthony’s hospital after being seriously 
ill since April. He had lived in Rock Island 27 years.

Mr. Cross was born in Warren county, Illinois, Feb. 1, 1883, a son of the late 
John and Eva Cross, and attended school in that vicinity. He married Josie 
Lewis of Burlington, Iowa, on Oct. 11, 1906 and they lived in Burlington until 
coming to Rock Island in 1920. Mr. Cross was a member of First Methodist 
church. He had been employed at the Farmall plant for 20 years.

Surviving are the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Jaeke of Baldwin Park, 
Calif.; two sons, Carroll L. Cross of Rock Island and William D. of Chicago; 
three grandchildren; two brothers, Donald of Peoria and Ira of Rock Island, 
and a sister, Mrs. Laura Slater of Fairview, Ill. Mr. Cross was preceded in 
death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

The body was taken to the Fairman funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o’clock Monday afternoon at the Fairman 
funeral home, the Rev. Ernest J Campbell of First Methodist church 
officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
