Catholic Church, 2208 4th Ave., Rock Island, Ill.
Vigil Service: Rosary 4:00 p.m. Wednesday April 07, 2010 at Wheelan-Pressly 
Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, Ill.
Emily M. DePauw, 102, a resident of Amber Ridge Assisted Living, Moline, 
formerly of Rock Island died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. 
Mary’s Catholic Church, Rock Island. Burial with graveside services will be 2:30 
p.m. Thursday at Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. 
Wednesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where 
a rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Mass offerings may be made in Emily’s name 
to St. Mary’s.
Emily DeKazel was born on November 15, 1907 in Kewanee, a daughter of Peter and 
Stephanie Martens DeKazel. She married Harold O. Krause on February 9, 1929 in 
Kewanee. He died January 21, 1935. Emily married Ray F. DePauw on April 26, 1946 
in Kewanee. He died June 18, 1997.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rock Island and its Altar 
Society. Emily enjoyed crocheting, gardening and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. 
She loved her family and especially enjoyed the times they were together.
Survivors include her son, William R. DePauw, Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter-in-law, 
Lorraine Krause, Milan; grandchildren, Cheryl Peters, David Krause, Thomas and 
Anthony DePauw; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Elsie Kirley, Kewanee; and 
several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands; son, 
Harold E. Krause; grandson, Stephen Krause; granddaughter, Amy DePauw Baylor; 
sister, Mary Weeks; and brothers, August and Francis DeKazel."

Emily was born on November 15, 1907 and passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010.
Emily was a resident of Moline, Illinois at the time of her passing. She was 
formerly from Rock Island, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray.
