"The Rock Island Argus"
Frederich E. Doeckel, 74yr old, Rock Island resident 53 yrs and retired 
employee of the Henry W. Horst Company, general contractors, died in the 
family home 1402-32nd Street, Rock Island following two year illness.  Mr 
Doeckel was born in Heidelberg, West Baden, Germany, August 07,1858, and 
received his education in that country.  He came to the United States in 1880, 
moving to Pittsburg, Pa, where he was employed as a car carpenter.  He moved 
to Rock Island 53 yrs ago, and had resided here since.
He married Mathilda Schnitger in Rock Island, November 2, 1881.  
Mr Doeckel was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and of camp # 29, Modern 
Woodmen of America.
Surviving besides the widow of Rock Island are three sons, Fred M. Doeckel, 
Jr, William A. Doeckel both of Rock Island, and Albert E Doeckel of 
Burlington, Iowa;  four daughters, Mrs. J. Downing of Sherrard, Mrs. Emma 
Hansen, and Mrs Betty Hart of Chicago, and Mrs Freida May of Decatur, 
Illinois.  Eight grandchildren, and a great grandchild.  
The body was removed to Moeller Mortuary pending funeral arrangements.
